Opening the Exhibition "Palestine through the Eyes of Young Artists"
The Art and Ethnographic Museum at BZU opened on 15 February 2010 the art exhibition "Palestine through the eyes of young artists," organized by the British Council and the Jeel Publishing/Filistine Ashabab, in cooperation with BZU and sponsored by the Wataniya Mobile Company, attended by BZU President, Dr. Nabil Kassis. and Deputy Director of the British Council, Kate Owen.
The exhibition attempts to establish and enhance the relationship between society and art, on one hand, and between society and the place, on the other hand. It comprised contributions from 29 artists from Palestine and the Diaspora, in which we explore the places through the artworks, and discover not only cities, streets, alleys, buildings and windows, but also dreams, imagination, love and memories, through which we can experience the essence of the place.
The participating artists are: Ibrahim Jawabreh, Amal Kawash, Iyad Sabbah, Iman Abu-U'rra, Basil, Muqawasi, Bashar al-Hroub, Jamal Bahri, Hazim Harb, Dina Matar, Raed Issa, Rania Akel, Ruba Hamdan, Rafideh Suhweil, Ruqaia Khamis, Shady Al-harim, Sharif Sarhan, Muhammad Abu Sal, Muhammad Abu-Naser, Muhammad al-Hawajiri, Muhammad al-Dabous, Muhammad Shaqdih, Muhammad Musallam, Munther Jawabrah, Maha al-Dayah, Maysa Azayzeh, Nabila Touman, Nasr Jawabrah, Nidal Abu Oun and Nawras Shalhoub.
The exhibition will tour several Palestinian cities over a period of nine months, in cooperation with a number of Palestinian universities and organizations.
