BZU students heads to Imagine Cup Regional Competition

A team of Electrical and Computer Department at Birzeit University will represent Palestine in the Microsoft Imagine Cup Competition in the United Arab Emirates- the Regional Competition. The team got the first place in the local competition that was held in Al-Quds University on May 9, 2017.

The winning team’s project measures the heart’s size automatically through Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It helps doctors to diagnose a disease’s symptoms in less time and effort

In addition to the winning team, another group of students from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department got the second place in the local competition after competing with 13 other Palestinian teams.

The students designed an application to help deaf or hard of hearing or hard of hearing communicate more effectively with others. It translates the sign language into text in the Arabic language.

Imagine Cup is Microsoft’s global student technology program and competition for creating novel applications, games, and solutions.
