Governance

Birzeit University administration manages a set of councils that work together to maintain the quality of a Birzeit University education, locally and internationally. These councils are formed in accordance with the bylaws and regulations created with the establishment of Birzeit University with the aim of establishing a good governance system. Each council follows up on the achievements of the previous ones, to maintain academic, administrative and financial performance among the leadership. The university administration is comprised of the University Council and the Academic Council.

The dean of each faculty assumes the responsibilities of the faculty’s administrative affairs, and each chairperson manages his/her department, in cooperation with the department council. Community centers and institutes are managed by their directors, in cooperation with the center’s/institute’s council or committee.
